DENTON, Texas -- Maurice Aniefiok scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and North Texas came from behind to beat Nicholls State 92-78 Thursday night.
Trailing in the second half after coming back to take a 38-36 halftime lead, Keith Coleman tied the game at 60 with a layup. Jordan Williams then hit a 3-pointer, sparking a 22-8 run in the game's final five minutes for North Texas (3-1).
North Texas out-rebounded Nicholls State 44-26 and out-shot the Colonels 39-14 from the free-throw line. North Texas shot a season-high 48.9 percent, while the Colonels shot 43.1 percent.
North Texas has beaten Nicholls State in their last four meetings, but the Colonels lead the series 9-8.
