EASTON, Pa. -- Joey Ptasinski scored 22 points, hitting all six of his 3-point shots, as Lafayette beat Navy 72-54 on Saturday to snap an 11-game losing streak.
Lafayette (5-16, 1-9 Patriot League) shot 57.5 percent from the field and made all 18 of its free throws but used defense to pull away from Navy (7-14, 2-8) in the second half.
Navy scored just two points during a 12-minute stretch in the second half, which included a span of more than 6 minutes without a single point. The Midshipmen scored just 20 second-half points, 8 of which came in the game's final 2 1/2 minutes.
Worth Smith had 15 points for Navy, which shot just 34 percent from the field and lost its fifth straight.
