CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Z. Mason scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Chattanooga defeated Grand Canyon 69-64 Sunday night in the Dr. Pepper Classic.
Grand Canyon (5-7) cut an eight-point deficit to three with 38.9 seconds remaining, and had a chance to tie the game after the Mocs missed their shot attempt. But the Antelopes turned the ball over on their next possession and Ronrico White hit two from the line to seal Chattanooga's victory.
White finished with 11 points and Martynas Bareika and Lance Stokes added 10 points apiece. Bareika scored in double digits for the fifth straight game and tied a career-high with four assists for Chattanooga (5-8).
Killian Larson led the Antelopes with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Chattanooga, which has won four of the last five Dr. Pepper Classics, will face off against Maine in the championship game on Monday.
