SAN ANTONIO -- Daniel Mullings scored 18 points as New Mexico State used a big second half to handle Texas-Pan American 78-61.
The Aggies (21-8, 10-3 West Coast) outscored UTPA 45-28 after the break. They shot 68 percent overall from the floor and made 17 of 24 free throws. Sim Bhullar had 15 points, while Tshilidzi Nephawe added 12 and Renaldo Dixon had 10.
Bhullar's dunk with 19 seconds left in the first half tied the game at 33 heading to intermission.
New Mexico State then opened the second half with a 14-2 run, including a pair of dunks by Bhullar and one by Mullings, to take over the game. UTPA got within nine on Farrell's jumper with 9:51 left, but a 9-2 spurt by the Aggies put things out of reach.
