MOSCOW, Idaho -- Stephen Madison scored 34 points and Idaho avenged a loss to Grand Canyon earlier this season with an 83-77 win Saturday.
Idaho (12-16, 5-8 Western Athletic Conference) opened the second half on a 7-0 run after leading 34-32 at half.
The Vandals pushed the lead to 16 points, before Grand Canyon (13-12, 8-4) closed the gap. The Antelopes came within 78-73 with 1:04 remaining, but Idaho made 5 of 8 free throws in the final minute to preserve the win.
Idaho evened its all-time record against the Antelopes at 1-1, after falling at Grand Canyon 86-73 in January.
