BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Cody Larson scored a career-high 24 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and had three blocked shots to lead South Dakota State to a 77-65 victory over Howard Monday night.
South Dakota State (2-4) took a 12-0 lead as Howard (2-5), which was only 16-of-55 from the floor for the game, could not get going. The Bison did close to 37-30 on a Prince Okoroh layup to start the final period. Larson then made four free throws on two different trips to the line, Broman hit two consecutive 3-pointers and Larson added layup to put the Jackrabbits out front 49-35. Howard never recovered from that run.
James Daniel, who was 4-of-9 from three-point range, had 27 points for Howard. Okoroh added 12 points.
