TROY, Ala. -- Antoine Myers made two free throws with 8 seconds remaining in double overtime to give Troy a 73-70 victory over Alcorn State Monday night.
Octavious Brown made two 3-pointers to give Alcorn State (3-4) a 66-61 lead in the first overtime. Free throws by Kevin Thomas, Meyers and Kevin Hinton tied the score at 66 to end the first overtime. Free throws won it for Troy (3-3) in the second overtime as Hunter Williams made two, Thomas added one and Meyers sealed the win with his two.
Troy made 26 of 32 free throws, compared to 6 of 12 for the Braves. Alcorn State outshot Troy from the field, making 29 of 72 shots (40.3 percent), while Troy made 33.8 percent.
Meyers led the Trojans with 19 points as all five starters scored in double figures. Hinton and Thomas both had 15 points and 12 rebounds.
