LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Will Neighbour scored 21 points to lead Arkansas-Little Rock over Texas State 69-64 on Thursday.
Arkansas-Little Rock (10-9, 5-2 Sun Belt) got 17 points from DeVonte Smith -- on 6 of 6 shooting -- and Gus Leeper added 11 points. The Trojans shot 47 percent from the floor, including 6 of 15 on 3-pointers.
Emani Grant led Texas State (5-14, 1-5) with 16 points. Reid Koenen had 13 points, while Joel Wright and Corey Stern had 10 points apiece. The Bobcats shot 49 percent, but made good on just 3 of 15 beyond the arc.
Texas State scored the last four points of the first half to lead 31-27 at intermission.
There were six lead changes and six ties in the early part of the second half, but UALR used a 12-3 run to go up nine with 2:54 left and held off Texas State down the stretch.
