DAVIS, Calif. -- Georgi Funtarov hit a 3-pointer with 7.2 seconds left in overtime to break a tie and lead UC Davis to a 90-86 win over Cal State Northridge on Thursday night.
Funtarov's 3 came after Stephan Hicks tied the game for Cal State Northridge at 86-86 on a dunk with 25 seconds left. Northridge had a chance to force double overtime but missed a 3-pointer in the waning seconds.
UC Davis (8-15, 3-5 Big West Conference) led 70-54 with less than 6 1/2 minutes left in regulation but Northridge (11-13, 3-6) got a layup from Tre Hale-Edmerson with 39 seconds left, forced a turnover and tied the game at 81-81 on a 3 by Josh Green with 22 seconds remaining to force overtime.
Hicks scored 23 for Northridge and Stephen Maxwell had 21.
