CHARELSTON, Ill. -- Chris Olivier's tip-in with two seconds left lifted Eastern Illinois to a 70-69 win over Tennessee State in a thrilling Ohio Valley Conference opener on Saturday.
In just his third game since becoming eligible after transferring from Northern Iowa, Olivier had 14 points and 15 rebounds, including a tip-in of Sherman Blanford's miss.
The Panthers (4-8, 1-0) trailed by 10 with 4:11 left after a Patrick Miller layup. The Tigers (1-13, 0-1) trailed by five at halftime but surged away from a 38-38 tie behind Miller, who matched his career high with 30 points.
The Panthers had 15 offensive rebounds to offset 39-percent shooting.
