CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Jarvis Williams scored 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as Murray State pulled away late from Austin Peay for a 96-88 win Friday.
Cameron Payne added 12 points and a career-high 12 assists for Murray State (13-8, 8-1 Ohio Valley). Payne assisted T.J. Sapp on a 3-pointer with 1:12 left to give the Racers a 90-86 lead, before Jeffery Moss drove into the lane and scored with 26 seconds left to help Murray State pull away.
Payne was 4 of 4 from the line in the final 18 seconds to secure the win, as Austin Peay (9-13, 3-5) struggled to score late after the Governors had cut an 87-82 deficit to 87-86 with 2:25 left.
Dexter Fields had 19 and Sapp added 15 while Moss scored 14.
