MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Angelo Warner hit a turnaround jumper in the lane with less than a second remaining in the second overtime as Morehead State edged Austin Peay 90-88 Wednesday night.
Warner was honored before the game for becoming the 30th 1,000 point scorer for Morehead. He finished with 28 for the Eagles (19-9, 10-3 Ohio Valley Conference). Warner sank a pair of game-tying free throws at the end of the first overtime, and grabbed a defensive rebound off a Travis Betran missed 3-pointer to preserve a 71-71 tie in regulation.
Betran led the Governors (11-16, 5-8) with 24 points.
The Eagles were trailing 71-68 before Drew Kelly (five points) converted a three-point play with 27 seconds left. forcing OT in a game that saw 10 ties and 11 lead changes.
