RICHMOND, Va. -- Cedrick Lindsay scored 14 points to lead a balance attack and dished off nine assists in Richmond's 68-53 win over James Madison on Saturday night.
ShawnDre' Jones came off the bench to score 13 on a perfect shooting night for the Spiders (6-2) and starters Alonzo Nelson-Odoba, Terry Allen and Derrick Williams each had 10, and combined for 22 rebounds. The fifth starter, Wayne Sparrow, had nine points. Jones was 4-4 with two free throws.
Charles Cooke had 20 points and Ron Currey 16 but James Madison was doomed by 31 percent shooting. The Dukes (2-6) were 0-16 from 3-point range.
Richmond broke away from a 2-2 tie with nine straight points. Jones and Lindsay dropped 3's around an Allen jumper to make it 21-9.
With a 35-25 lead at the half, the Spiders scored the first seven of the second half, starting with a pair of Williams layups.
