DURHAM, N.H. -- Clancy Rugg was perfect from the free throw line in 10 attempts and scored 18 points to lead Vermont to an easy win at New Hampshire, 79-44 Wednesday night.
The win was the seventh straight for Vermont (18-9, 12-1) and the Catamounts are a game ahead of Stony Brook atop the America East Conference standings. Vermont plays host to Hartford Sunday and Stony Brook Thursday.
The Catamounts held New Hampshire to just 16 first-half points, building a 26-point lead at intermission and led by as many as 37 points in the second half.
John Edwards had nine points to lead New Hampshire (6-20, 4-9), which did not have a scorer reach double figures and shot a collective 13 of 57.
