KENT, Ohio -- Will Felder scored 26 points and Miami (Ohio) used a big first half to take down Kent State 73-61 on Tuesday.
Miami (12-16, 8-9 Mid-American Conference) led 45-25 at half, hitting all seven 3-point attempts and shooting 63 percent from the field. Felder led the RedHawks with 15 first-half points.
Miami led by as many as 24 before Kent State (16-14, 7-10) put together a second-half run. Trailing 57-33, the Golden Flashes used an 18-2 run to come within 59-51. But the RedHawks responded with an 11-4 run to go up 70-55, and held a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
