NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Angelo Warner scored 23 points and Kareem Storey added a career-high 17 as fourth-seeded Morehead State defeated fifth-seeded Tennessee Tech 76-71 on Thursday night to advance to the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
Billy Reader added 10 points for the Eagles (20-12), who will play No. 1 seed Belmont Friday in the semifinals.
Morehead State opened up the second half with an 18-5 run that gave it a 49-31 lead over the Golden Eagles (17-16) with 14:53 to go. The lead stayed in double figures the rest of the way.
The Eagles, who led virtually the entire game, had a 13-0 run early in the first half, which ended with Morehead State leading 31-26.
Morehead State scored 23 points off 22 Tennessee Tech turnovers, including 14 steals.
