NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Deonte Alexander led Lipscomb with 17 points as the Bisons knocked off Tennessee Tech 80-64 Friday night in a nonconference game.
The win was just the sixth for Lipscomb (3-3) in 47 all-time meetings with the Golden Eagles (3-3), with Tennessee Tech taking nine of the previous 10 matchups against the Bisons.
Tennessee Tech's Jeremiah Samarrippas had a career-high 20 points, making 8 of 13 from the field and 4 of 8 from 3-point range. Jud Dillard pitched in his third double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Lipscomb led 50-48 with 11:06 left when Talbott Denny hit a 3-pointer to launch a 9-0 run. Tennessee Tech climbed back to 68-64 on Samarrippas' 3-pointer with 2:42 left, but the Bisons closed on a 12-0 run boosted by six free throws and six points each from Malcolm Smith (13 points) and Khion Sankey (11 points).
