Turgeon, Hurley get into postgame spat

Maryland coach Mark Turgeon and Rhode Island coach Dan Hurley exchanged words late in the Terps' win over the Rams at the Cancun Challenge. A tournament official then said Hurley directed an expletive at Maryland's players in the postgame handshake line. The teams also had to be separated before the awards ceremony. Hurley said of the incident: "Heat of the moment, championship game, stuff happens."

Self: 'It was a great team win'

One lesson Kansas coach Bill Self learned in winning in the Maui Invitational: "We learn we can win when we play fast. And tonight, we learned we can win when it's ugly and don't play very fast."


Selden leads No. 5 Kansas to Maui title

Wayne Selden Jr. scored 25 points to lead No. 5 Kansas to a 70-63 victory over No. 19 Vanderbilt and capture the Maui Invitational title.

We've got two high-level NCAA tournament type games in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals: Gonzaga-Texas A&M at 1 and UConn-Syracuse at 3:30 pm. All four look the part of NCAA teams here in late November.

Ellis untouched along baseline for dunk

Perry Ellis looked at a 3, then blew down the baseline for an easy dunk and his first points of the game, as Kansas has grabbed the lead on Vanderbilt in the second half of the Maui Invitational final on ESPN.

Vanderbilt holds a 30-26 lead over Kansas in the finals of the Maui Invitational on ESPN, thanks in part to this sweet baseline layup from Damian Jones.


Kornet throws it down over Kansas

After a beautiful pass from Wade Baldwin IV, Vanderbilt's Luke Kornet put down a huge dunk on ESPN. Vanderbilt leads Kansas 18-16 midway through the first half of the Maui Invitational championship.

Grayson Allen recorded 14 points and five rebounds in No. 6 Duke's 80-61 win over Yale.


No. 18 UConn (3-0) vs. Michigan (2-1)

Texas A&M went into the crowd after the Texas win. Said one Aggie staffer, "You have no idea how much this means to (the fans)." Aggies senior Alex Caruso pounded his heart and said, "this means so much." Caruso was in high school the last time the two former rivals played. The Aggie fans chanted "S-E-C" toward the end of the game. Rivalry. Keep it going. Coaches want it. Both administrations need to get on board.
