Valparaiso defeats Iona 83-58

Tevonn Walker scored 17 points and Shane Hammink added a career-best 16 as Valparaiso led from start to finish defeating Iona 83-58 on Sunday.

St. John's Pointer wins All-Met Haggerty Award

Sir'Dominic Pointer of St. John's won the Haggerty Award on Wednesday, presented to the All-Met Division I player of the year by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association.

Hassan has lift off!

Hassan Martin takes off for this power jam, and Rhode Island rolled to a 51-39 halftime lead against Iona in the first half of this NIT matchup on ESPNU. All 10 Rams scored in the half, while the Gaels shot just 30.3 percent from the field.

Manhattan claims MAAC championship

Jaspers forwards Ashton Pankey scored 21 and Emmy Andujar had 18 points to pull away from the Gaels late in the second half and punch a ticket to the Big Dance with a 79-69 title win.


Manhattan upsets Iona to take MAAC title

Ashton Pankey had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Emmy Andujar added 18 points and 11 rebounds, and third-seeded Manhattan beat top-seeded Iona 79-69 on Monday night to win the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title for the second straight year.


Final: Manhattan 79, Iona 69

After a see-saw battle for most of the game, the Jaspers pulled away from the Gaels on an 11-3 run late in the second half to claim the MAAC title and punch their ticket to the Big Dance. Ashton Pankey had a team-high 21 to lead four Jaspers in double figures.
