Michael Dyer switching to No. 5

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville running back Michael Dyer is switching to Teddy Bridgewater's old uniform number.

New coach Bobby Petrino joked Thursday that "he's certainly not going to throw the ball in" the No. 5 jersey. Petrino said Dyer is changing from No. 26 because "it's a number he likes" and he's worn it before.

Bridgewater played in No. 5 the past three seasons and led Louisville to a 23-3 record and a pair of bowl wins in the last two. He was a first-round selection by the ...
