Williams breaks record with 34th 100-yard game
DETROIT -- Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams set an NCAA record with his 34th 100-yard rushing game Monday against Akron in the Motor City Bowl.
Williams shared the record with Archie Griffin of Ohio State and Tony Dorsett of Pittsburgh, both Heisman Trophy winners in the mid-1970s. Griffin set the mark in 42 games, and Dorsett matched it in 43 games -- one fewer than Williams.
