New Mexico to hire Locksley, fourth black coach in FBS

Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley has agreed to become the head coach at New Mexico, making him the fourth African-American head coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the former Division I-A.

Locksley, who also interviewed for the vacant head-coaching position at Clemson according to a source, was is in his fourth season as offensive coordinator at Illinois.

A news conference to introduce Locksley in Albuquerque is set for Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
