Weber beats spring competition
Minnesota will stick with Adam Weber as its starting quarterback when the 2010 season kicks off in September.
Coach Tim Brewster made the announcement on the team's official website, opting to stick with the experienced Weber instead of younger challengers MarQueis Gray and Moses Alipate.
Weber, the Gophers' all-time passing yards leader, has started 38 consecutive games for Minnesota but had to compete this spring to retain his job after struggling in 2009.
