Steve Whiteman elected Fiesta chair

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Steve Whiteman, the former chairman and CEO of Viasoft, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Fiesta Bowl.

Whiteman replaces Duane Woods, who led the effort to reform the bowl's structure and resuscitate its image following the expense account and illegal political donation scandal that rocked the event last year.

Whiteman served on the special committee to investigate those improprieties.
