Liberty Bowl renews Dec. 31 slate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Liberty Bowl in Memphis is staying on New Year's Eve, and the 54th annual game will kick off in the afternoon.
The bowl announced details Monday with a 3:30 p.m. EST kickoff televised by ESPN.
This will be the 13th time the Liberty Bowl has been played on Dec. 31 and the 11th in the last 16 years.
The AutoZone Liberty Bowl is the seventh oldest bowl game, and the last eight games have been tight with an average five-point margin of victory.
