BEAUMONT, Texas -- Michael Chaney gave Southeastern Louisiana an early 6-0 lead and the Lions never looked back, defeating Lamar 31-21 on its own home turf Saturday.

Trailing 31-14 early in the fourth quarter, Lamar's Tyru McGlothen made things interesting after he picked off a Nathan Stanley pass and returned it 96-yards for a touchdown with 6:58 to go. After the extra point by Justin Stout, the Cardinals trailed 31-21.
