Hazing: Famed Marching 100 band gets new director

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida A&M University on Tuesday announced the hiring of a director for its famous Marching 100 band, bidding to rebuild and relaunch the band suspended after a 2011 hazing scandal.

Sylvester Young, a 66-year-old alumnus and a former director of the Ohio University marching band, is coming out of retirement to rebuild The Marching 100.
