Miami officials defend school
INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Miami officials are defending the school against NCAA allegations of "lack of institutional control" after nearly three years of dealing with the fallout from a booster who says he provided improper benefits to athletes.
University President Donna Shalala and Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford arrived for the hearing at a hotel in downtown Indianapolis on Thursday morning.
