David Ash cleared to face Kansas St.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas got some much-needed good news on the eve of its Big 12 opener against Kansas State.

Quarterback David Ash, who suffered a concussion two weeks ago, will start against Kansas State on Saturday after team doctors cleared him, the school announced Friday.

Ash, who suffered the concussion during the Longhorns' 40-21 loss to BYU on Sept. 7, resumed practicing with the team Wednesday after being held out of Texas' 41-23 loss to Ole Miss last week.
