Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez out

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Redshirt freshman Tommy Armstrong was announced to the crowd at Memorial Stadium as Nebraska's starting quarterback Saturday in the lead-up to kickoff against South Dakota State.

Armstrong is set to earn the start in place of senior Taylor Martinez, who is battling a turf toe injury, and senior Ron Kellogg III.
