De'Anthony Thomas hurt on kickoff

EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon running back De'Anthony Thomas hurt his right ankle returning the opening kickoff against California on Saturday night.

Thomas grasped his lower leg before he was helped off the field. Later he was seen on the sidelines without his helmet. He reappeared after the half on crutches, but because Oregon does not discuss injuries as a policy it is unclear how serious it is.

After Oregon's 55-16 victory, Thomas said the injured ankle had not yet been X-rayed. ...
