6. Boise State

The Lightning Rod is back. After starting more arguments in 2010 than health care, Boise State is once again positioned to challenge the establishment -- and have its credentials challenged by skeptical elites. There's plenty to like about the veteran Broncos, starting with Heisman finalist QB Kellen Moore, 1,200-yard rusher Doug Martin and a disruptive defensive line. The primary concerns are replacing receivers Titus Young and Austin Pettis, both NFL draft picks, and offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin, who left for Texas. The schedule again features a huge season opener (Georgia in Atlanta) but is tougher than last year thanks to a switch to the MWC. It still will draw plenty of critics, especially if Boise piles up victories. Prepare to choose sides again. -- Pat Forde, ESPN.com national columnist
