David Amerson

Defensive Back | NC State

Amerson moved from boundary to field corner this year and had a breakout season, leading the nation with 11 interceptions -- five more than any other player. Entering the Belk Bowl against West Virginia, Amerson is just one interception shy of ranking in the top three in NCAA FBS history. He set the school's single-season record for interceptions, breaking a record that had stood for 73 years. He racked up 140 yards on his interceptions and finished with 54 tackles. Amerson was one of five true freshmen to start for NC State in 2010, and the coaches knew he had potential, but this season's production was a surprise even by their standards.
