Ralphie The Buffalo
The Ralphie run at Colorado is one of the most dramatic moments in college sports, as the Buffaloes players run out of their locker room tunnel behind a real, live 1,300-pound animal.
Live Buffaloes first appeared on campus in 1934, three weeks after a contest to select an official school nickname was completed. But a live buffalo run as we know it today didn't start until Oct. 28, 1967, for Colorado's homecoming game against Oklahoma State.
While Ralphie has five trained student handlers trying to control her with ropes, you just never know. And that's why even opposing players know that Ralphie's run is one of the most notable moments in college sports. You can't afford to ignore it. -- Ted Miller
