Colorado's McChesney suspended

Associated Press

BOULDER, Colo. -- Colorado sophomore defensive end Matt McChesney has been suspended indefinitely by coach Gary Barnett.

The suspension includes the Buffaloes' post-season play and the team's senior banquet Sunday in Denver.

Barnett, on a recruiting trip Wednesday, said McChesney was suspended for violating team rules.

McChesney played in all 12 games this year, making 29 tackles, including 18 solo stops on defense.

Colorado captured its first Big 12 Conference title with a 39-37 victory over Texas on Saturday and earned an automatic berth in the Bowl Championship Series.
