No current plans for Irizarry to play football

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Former Ohio State tight end Louis
Irizarry enrolled at Youngstown State, but apparently has no
immediate plans to play football.

Youngstown State sports information director Trevor Parks said
Wednesday that Irizarry has enrolled in classes, but was unaware of
whether there had been any contact between Irizarry and the
school's football coaches.

"Footballwise, he's not doing anything with us," Parks said.

Irizarry was suspended indefinitely by Ohio State after being
charged with robbery. The charges against Irizarry and teammate Ira
Guilford, a running back, stem from a May 1 episode on the Ohio
State campus in which another student claimed he was jumped by two
men who stole his wallet.

Irizarry and Guilford pleaded innocent to robbery charges, and a
trial date was set for Sept. 2.

Irizarry is a native of Youngstown who graduated from Youngstown
