Pelini will be DC; Dunbar, Peveto also on board

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Oklahoma assistant Bo Pelini, Chicago Bears defensive line coach Karl Dunbar and Middle Tennessee
defensive coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto have joined the staff of
new LSU coach Les Miles.

The three were formally introduced Thursday. Pelini will be the
Tigers' defensive coordinator, while Dunbar will be an assistant
head coach and defensive line coach. Peveto will oversee LSU's
special teams.

Pelini was the interim head coach at Nebraska before joining
Oklahoma as co-defensive coordinator in 2004. Before taking the job
at LSU, Pelini was considered for head coaching openings at
Syracuse and Pittsburgh. However, Syracuse selected former
Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Greg Robinson to lead its
program and Pittsburgh went with former Miami Dolphins head
coach Dave Wannstedt.

Pelini served as interim head coach at Nebraska after Frank
Solich was fired Nov. 29, 2003, coaching the Huskers to a 17-3
victory over Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl.

He also was an
assistant in the NFL for nine years, working with the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers before going
to Nebraska.

Dunbar starred as a defensive lineman for LSU, then spent six
seasons in the NFL. After spending six seasons coaching at Nicholls
State, LSU and Oklahoma State, he joined the Bears last season.

Peveto coached defensive backs at the University of Houston for
four seasons before joining Middle Tennessee in the same capacity
in 2003. He became defensive coordinator last season.
