Johnson has surgery on broken collarbone

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson underwent surgery after breaking his collarbone in a bicycle accident while on vacation.

"Like some of those Tour de France guys, I fell off my bike," Johnson said. "It required surgery because it was at a point on the collarbone where it would not have healed together properly by itself."

The accident happened Friday in South Carolina and the surgery was Monday, Johnson said.

Johnson is wearing a sling on his left arm to keep him from making quick movements and let others know not to touch his arm because he has an injury, Johnson said.
