Longhorns set record with six first-half TDs

HOUSTON -- No. 2 Texas stayed well on the path toward the
Rose Bowl on Saturday, taking a 42-3 halftime lead over Colorado
and setting a record for most points in a half of the Big 12 title
Vince Young threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns and ran for
another to move the Longhorns two quarters away from clinching a
spot in the national title game.
Texas (11-0), which has now scored 40 or more points in 11 of 12
games this season, made it 14-0 after 11 minutes and kept piling on
from there.
The previous record for points in a half of the Big 12
championship game was 37, by Nebraska against Texas A&M in 1997.
