FSU calls on QB Weatherford with bowl hopes at stake

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State football coach Bobby
Bowden says the Seminoles got -- in his words -- "whipped"
Saturday night by Wake Forest.

He's decided he's going back to Drew Weatherford at quarterback
for next Saturday's homecoming game against Western Michigan.

The Seminoles are looking for answers after a 30-0
loss at the hands of Wake Forest, which became the first team to shut out the
Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium in Bowden's 31 seasons at FSU.
The game also snapped a 232-game run dating back to the 1988 season
opener at Miami when Florida State last failed to score.

Xavier Lee started the past three games, but was relieved by
Weatherford in the second quarter of Saturday's loss after throwing
his second interception. Weatherford also wound up being
intercepted twice.

Florida State, which was swept by its Atlantic Division rivals
this season, must defeat either Western Michigan or Florida to
become bowl eligible.
