Northwestern senior linebacker Malcolm Arrington will miss the rest of the regular season with a left knee injury, the team announced Monday.
Arrington sustained the injury in the first half of Saturday's 48-26 win against Purdue. There's no official word on whether Arrington tore ligaments or will undergo surgery in the coming weeks. Head coach Pat Fitzgerald said there's a chance Arrington could return for a bowl game.
Sophomore Nate Williams replaced Arrington against Purdue and likely will start this week at middle linebacker against Indiana.
Arrington ranks third on the team in tackles (51) and fourth in tackles for loss (6.5).
