COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Arkansas tailback Michael Smith, the Southeastern Conference's leading rusher, hurt his shoulder and did not return in the 34-21 loss to South Carolina.
Smith came in averaging more than 123 yards, tops in the SEC.
His last gain was for 5 yards with less than two minutes left before the half. Smith appeared to get up slowly.
Smith had been bothered by a sore shoulder coming into the game, according to Arkansas.
Smith left with 25 yards on seven carries.
