MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Andy Roesch threw for 204 yards and two
touchdowns and Mike Langford kicked three field goals to lead Ball
State to a 31-7 victory Thursday night over Indiana State.
The Cardinals built a 15-0 halftime lead on a 1-yard run by
Scott Blair and a 47-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Hahaj.
Indiana State got on the board with 5:58 remaining in the third
quarter with a 3-yard run by Jake Shields. Ball State followed with
two more field goals in less than three minutes.
The Cardinals finished with a 54-yard scoring pass from Roesch
to Dante Ridgeway and again on a 31-yard field goal from Brian
It was the first time the Cardinals played a home game at night
since 1967. The school rented portable lights. The crowd of 23,549
set an attendance record.
