SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Lynel Hamilton became the first true
freshman in school history to rush for 100 yards in his debut as
San Diego State posted a 19-9 victory over Division I-AA
Eastern Washington.

Hamilton rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries,
helping the Aztecs break open the game in the second half after
a sluggish start.

San Diego State managed only a 6-3 halftime lead on field goals
of 35 and 22 yards by J.C. Mejia.

But Hamilton scored on a one-yard TD run with 6:45 left in the
third quarter and 15-yard scamper with 12:46 left in the contest
to make it 19-3.

Matt Dlugolecki and Adam Hall combined to complete 17-of-33
passes for 151 yards for the Aztecs.

Eastern Washington got a late score on Skyler Allen's 13-yard TD
pass to Eric Kimble with 1:20 to go. Allen completed 14-of-22
passes for just 90 yards.
