DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Adam Smith threw two touchdown passes to Reggie Love and rushed for another score as Duke posted a 29-3 victory over Western Carolina in its home opener.

Smith completed 13-of-20 passes for 120 yards for the Blue Devils (1-1), who rebounded from last week's season-opening 27-0 loss to Virginia.

Smith and Love hooked up for a three-yard TD with 8:41 left in the second quarter, then combined again for a four-yard TD midway through the final period.

Chris Douglas rushed for 107 yards on 22 carries, including a three-yard TD that opened the scoring just over six minutes into the first quarter.

Western Carolina (0-2) has held to just four yards rushing and got its only points on Chris Vought's 26-yard field goal with three minutes left in the first third quarter.

Brian Gaither completed 18-of-33 passes for 181 yards for the Catamounts, but was intercepted three times.

Duke has won all three meetings with Western Carolina.
