MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Laurence Maroney, Marion Barber III
and No. 24 Minnesota are entering Big Ten Conference play on a

Maroney rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown and Barber ran for
120 yards and two scores as the Golden Gophers manhandled
Louisiana-Lafayette, 48-14, for their 600th all-time victory.

Minnesota (4-0), which won its first four games for the first
time since 1999, outgained Louisiana-Lafayette on the ground,
356-50, as it became the 25th school - the fourth in the Big Ten
- to win 600 games. The Gophers are 600-419-44.

Barber, who ran for a school record-tying four touchdowns in a
42-10 rout of Ohio last week, scored on runs of 15 and seven
yards to give the Gophers a 14-0 advantage with 7:41 left in the
opening quarter.

Minnesota scored the game's first 31 points and took a 41-7 lead
into the break on a two-yard run by Thomas Tapeh.

Eric Rekieta completed 13-of-23 passes for 141 yards and two
touchdowns for the Ragin' Cajuns (0-3), who have been outscored
by Minnesota by 127-39 in matchups the last three years.
