AMES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Reggie McNeal accounted for four
touchdowns and the Texas A&M defense allowed only a
first-quarter field goal in the Aggies' 34-3 victory over Big 12
Conference rival Iowa State.
McNeal threw three TD passes, including two in the first
quarter, and added a two-yard TD run in the second quarter as
Texas A&M (4-1, 2-0 Big 12 South) opened up a 20-3 lead at the
half. McNeal completed 16-of-27 passes for 222 yards.
Iowa State (2-3, 0-2 North) managed only a 27-yard field goal by
Brian Jansen with 36 seconds left in the first quarter that
made it 13-3.
Courtney Lewis got loose for a 12-yard TD pass from McNeal just
over a minute into the second half to extend the Aggie lead to
Iowa State quarterbacks had a rough day as Austin Flynn and Bret
Meyer combined to finish 18-of-42 for 161 yards and two
interceptions. The duo also was sacked three times.
Texas A&M has won four straight since a season-opening 41-21
loss at No. 11 Utah. The Aggies now have a date with No. 21
Oklahoma State in Stillwater in what will be an important Big 12
