AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Brett Biggs rushed for 195 yards and scored
three touchdowns, and Domenik Hixon scored twice to lead Akron to a
35-23 win over Ball State on Saturday night.
Biggs ran 3 yards for a score and caught a 44-yard TD pass from
Charlie Frye in the first half. Hixon added a 9-yard TD catch 34
seconds before halftime to give the Zips (4-4, 4-1 Mid-American
Conference) a 21-7 lead.
Hixon returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in the third
quarter and Biggs ran for a 14-yard score early in the fourth to
make it 35-10. Biggs rushed 31 times and caught five passes for 86
Adell Givens led the Cardinals (1-7, 1-4) with 141 yards rushing
and three touchdowns on 23 carries, but two of the scores came
after Akron took its 25-point lead. Givens' touchdown runs were
from 5, 10 and 18 yards.
Dante Ridgeway caught 14 passes for 158 yards for Ball State.
