BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Omar Jacobs threw four touchdown
passes -- all in the first half as Bowling Green set a school record
with 49 points -- and the Falcons coasted to a 52-0 win over Western
Michigan on Saturday.
P.J. Pope rushed for 205 yards on just 12 carries and scored
three touchdowns for the Falcons (7-2, 5-1 Mid-American
Conference). All but 3 of Pope's yards and all of his scoring plays
came in the opening half.
By halftime, the Falcons had 551 yards of total offense. They
finished with 666.
Western Michigan (1-8, 0-6) mustered 295 yards of offense in the
game but turned the ball over four times.
Bowling Green took the opening kickoff and drove 98 yards,
capped by Pope's 7-yard run. Jacobs then hit Charles Sharon on
scoring passes of 10 and 46 yards and Cole Magner on a 17-yarder
for a 28-0 lead before the first quarter was over.
Jacobs, who completed 17 of 20 passes for 300 yards, then hit
Magner on a 26-yard scoring pass before Pope scored on runs of 41
and 88 yards.
The only second-half scoring came on Shaun Suisham's 40-yard
B.J. Lane added 118 yards on 23 carries for the Falcons.
Quarterbacks Ryan Cubit and Blayne Baggett combined to hit on 20
of 48 passes for 213 yards with three interceptions for the
