Idaho 41, Utah State 21

LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Steve Wichman threw for 188 yards and one
touchdown and Idaho's defense scored twice as the Vandals rallied
for a 41-21 win over Utah State on Saturday.

Utah State (0-5, 0-1 Western Athletic Conference) scored the
game's first 14 points, but Idaho (2-3, 1-0) responded by scoring
the next 41.

Ahead 14-10, the Aggies had first-and-goal on Idaho's 7-yard
line when Stanley Franks intercepted a pass by Leon Jackson III and
returned it 98 yards to give Idaho a 17-14 lead with 1:26 to go in
the half.

In the fourth quarter, Idaho's Jo Artis Ratti returned a fumble
recovery 74 yards for a touchdown as the Vandals increased their
lead to 41-14.

Utah State's first offensive score of the season came after
Marcus Cross scored on a 6-yard run to give the Aggies a 7-0 lead
in the first quarter.

After recovering a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, the Aggies
went up 14-0 on a 1-yard pass from Jackson to Jimmy Bohm.

Jayson Bird ran for 51 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries for
the Vandals, while Brian Flowers gained 41 yards and a touchdown on
11 carries.

Prior to Saturday, Utah State's only points of the season came
from an interception return by Antonio Taylor in the season opener
at Wyoming on Sept. 2.
